Description:
The Fire Dragonfly frame was one of the first CrissCrossFPV brand frames offered to the pilots. Since then, the frame has evolved and become very close to the perfect.
The current update happened utterly unintentionally. We haven't planned to modify the Fire Dragonfly now. And that was one of those emotional moments when an inspirational spirit takes control of the situation. We just followed the flow. Was it good or bad? We don't know yet. But we hope you will like the results.
Initially, we have designed the Fire Dragonfly around the idea of the robust yet lightest possible freestyle frame. With a focus on speed and agility.
Nowadays, the overall weight is still one of the primary requirements. But the importance of the frame's weight is much lower. And usually, it is only one-fifth or even less of the total weight of the drone assembly.
So we decided to shift the core of the concept to the performance. The stiffness and durability became the central columns around which we created a new version of the Fire Dragonfly cinema drone frame.
We have started with arms. They are the most vulnerable part of any frame. So we increased thickness up to 5 mm and changed the profile. The front arm has received an additional joint that connects the arm with the frontal part of the main body. As a result, the front of the frame became highly rigid and robust.
We made the bottom plate from a 3 mm thick plate instead of 2 mm. Without any cutout, it serves well the main requirement - the torsional stiffness.
The height of the frame on the sides is 15 mm, but the central stack's part is 22 mm tall. The smashed body works better against direct impacts, and the low standoffs have less chance to be bent.
We have slightly redesigned the top plate. We kept the original regular and "toilet tank" battery positioning options. But now you can fix the battery with double straps.
You can also place a secondary battery plate over the main top plate. With a few additional strap cutouts, it offers more options for battery placement and counterbalances the heavy action cam on the front. That makes the drone more responsive and agile.
In the rear is enough space to install any of the HD VTX systems that are currently available on the market - DJI O3 AIR, Walksnail Avatar and HDZero Freestle 1W VTX
